This week, Karen reviewed Summer Jam Canada that had happened over the weekend in Kitchener, Ontario. We also had in studios Black Glovez and Chris Major, founder of 514Smoke.

On this show, we decided to pay homage strictly to Montreal music by playing music only from Montrealers! The compilation was created from music sent to Karen over the past few years, what was sent to her to post on her blog and what was sent to her Facebook "casting call". Over 30 artists had their voices heard on air.

First, we heard from french R&B singer and radio host Eriq Valcourt (Saveurs! Wednesdays from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. on a station to be announced). He shared some insight on the Montreal music industry, his path and his future projects.
Next, Montreal rapper F.R.O.S.T. discussed his come up in the Montreal urban scene, his performance at Summer Jam Canada and his role in upcoming movie Bumrush.
Lastly, fresh faces on the Montreal music scene, The Passereens chatted about how they met, their ambitions and where they see themselves in the near future.

The teens from the West Island Black Community Association (WIBCA) dropped by to get a taste of CKUT radio life. They took a tour of the station and participated in the Soul P experience. The following week, some of the teens came back to talk to us about their ambition and issues amongst the teenage community. We also got to hear some spoken word from them and one of the teens surprised us with her singing talents.

This week, the city was in an uproar following the announcement that the 2010 edition of the Montreal Carifête had been canceled. This would have marked the 36th year of the carnival festivities. Soul P got one side of the story from representatives of the Caribbean Cultural Festivities Association (CCFA). The members of the Montreal Carnival Development Foundation (MCDF) were not available for comment.

Also, we wrapped up Soul P Poetry Month with Kym Dominique-Ferguson.
